Leading College Students to Become Lifelong Disciples of Christ
Who Impact the World with the Gospel.
Who is the Collegiate Ministry Group? And what do they do?
The Collegiate Ministry Group and Baptist Collegiate Ministry are here to serve local churches and students in a variety of ways. Click on the question above to learn more.

The Collegiate Ministry Group is part of the Congregational Spiritual Development Team of the South Carolina Baptist Convention. We exist to Empower Kingdom Growth among college students, church college ministries, and churches throughout South Carolina. The CMG guides the following ministries as part of the overall ministry of the South Carolina Baptist Convention:

  • Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM) Groups – There are currently BCM groups on 31 college campuses across South Carolina. These groups are partnerships between local churches, local associations, and the South Carolina Baptist Convention to reach college students for Christ. BCM campus groups minister to the campus by conducting evangelistic outreach projects, Bible studies, discipleship, and missions opportunities to students. For contact information on a specific BCM group click here.

  • Scholarships – The CMG helps coordinate the SCBC’s scholarship program. This program helps provide scholarships for students who are pursuing a college or seminary degree that will lead them into a church related vocation such as pastor, missionary, or children’s minister. For more information on these scholarships click here.

  • Church Consulting – The CMG provides consulting for churches in the area of collegiate ministry. CMG staff and consultants who serve in local churches are available to visit your church and provide guidance in any area of collegiate ministry. To inquire about church consulting click here.

  • Collegiate Missions Planning – The CMG along with the Missions Mobilization Group offer help coordinating collegiate missions opportunities for church and campus groups. For information on planning a collegiate missions experience click here.

  • Youth Transition Ministry – The CMG provides help and information to churches that are transitioning youth into collegiate ministry in the local church.
